Keep This Under Your Hood!

Jay Ward stumbled upon this fantastic Ford parts and service film from 1940. It’s rare to see a fully animated dealer informational clip from this era, as most automotive films were live action or employed still images to save cost. The animation here is top notch, as we witness the genuine Ford valve laughing off damage from Wear, Impact, Corrosion, and the oddly high-voiced Heat. Next we jump to film of Ford mechanics training and using service department tools like the “all position engine stand”, which I would personally love to have in my garage! After a drool-worthy shot of a Ford parts and accessories display, the film goes back to animation at the end as our engine part barker invites us to a beautiful dance of Flathead pistons, springs, bearings and lifters. This is my new favorite film clip hands down… Enjoy.
