Diego Rivera’s Ford Mural

Jive-Bomber over on The Jalopy Journal stumbled upon a jewel this morning and I thought I would share it with you all as well. Essentially, it’s photos of the mural that Mexican artist, Diego Rivera, did after a commission from Edsel Ford in 1932. Put frankly, it’s friggin’ glorious.

28,000,000th Ford

Nothing ground breaking here… Just a neat old post card I found the other day celebrating the 28,000,000th Ford assembled. From appearances, it went down on April, 8 1940 at the Edgewater Assembly Plant. The car produced, of course, was a 1940 sedan.

Pretty darned cool.

Henry Ford’s Lost Predictions

In September of 1931, the New York Times asked Henry Ford what he thought life would be like in 2011. His answer was forgotten and mostly lost until recently when a South Carolina Law Firm stumbled upon the script. Henry’s answer was not specific so much as it was emotional and I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.
