I found the above picture in Al’s gallery and it made me think about my experience rebuilding my own Model-A fuel gauge. It was a job I had never done before and I was absolutely floored by the quality of materials Ford used for such a simple little instrument. Oddly, that one small part pictured above epitomizes my love for early Fords. There was simply no plan for obsolescence.

I was cruising youtube this morning and found the above video. Apparently, those Model A Fords are bombing around the Ray Dahlinger built Ford test track which doubled as an airport for Ford execs of the day. Great footage.
