Post, Reply, & Edit

Now that you are registered, it’s time to learn the basics of posting. Posting on the new Ford Barn is much more dynamic and, many believe, much easier than it used to be. Let’s get into it.

Posting
You’ll notice that the new Ford Barn is separated into different forums in much the same way that the old Ford Barn was divided. We have forums for the Model T, Model A, Early V8, and Late V8. To post in one of these forums, simply go to one and hit the “Start A New Thread” button. It should look something like this:

Once you have clicked that button, you will be taken to a page that asks you for a title and a Message. Fill those out accordingly. You might also notice that there are other buttons and fields on the page. This is a basic tutorial and you don’t have to worry about any of those extra features to post, so don’t sweat them yet.

Once you have give your post a subject line and a message (the meat of your posts), click the “submit new thread” button.

Presto. You are done. Easy, right?

If you want to practice, feel free to use our test forum found here.

Replying
What good is a forum if you can’t reply to your buddies – right? Replying is just as easy as posting. Find a thread worthy of your comments and then click the “post reply” button. It should look like this:

Once you click that, you will be taken to a page very similar to the “new thread” page. Simply fill out the message section of the page with your reply and then hit the “post reply” button. Done. You just replied.

Editing
Let’s say you posted something that you regret… Or maybe you had a typo. If you want to go back and fix it, just go to the post or reply in question and then hit the “edit” button. It should look like this:

Once you have done that, you will be taken to a page that allows you to edit your post. Edit it up and then hit the “save” button. Once again, easy…
