Re: Now it's junk from Carpenter!
I can answer this: it will be like it was in 1962 when I bought my '40 coupe. I searched wrecking yards for better parts . Good rubber on running boards was always hard to find along with hood latch...

Re: T170 help
I agree with 38 coupe on your current combo; if your engine is stock in good repair you should be fine on flat ground (where you live). With the T170, you can drop out of O.D. on a hill and not lug ...

Re: 41 Ford pickup lower door hinge repair
If you are talking about the part of the hinge that is attached to the door, the hinge is riveted to a support behind the outside metal; these rivets "pull out" or come loose from rust so the hinge...

Re: '40 Ford Dome Light order
Looking at the assembly, I don't think it has any choice. The socket+ bulb base occupies more space than the bulb. You might get more reflection if you used the fake chrome paint on the inside of he ...

Re: value of my 1940 pickup
My post of $8000 for your project probably seems extreme; however I'm struggling with a '41 project that turned out to be a POS even through I drove it for more than a season. Here is a link to my...

Re: value of my 1940 pickup
Even with the wrong bed and rear fenders, as long as the cab floor and "a" pillars are solid and it has a good frame. $8000.

Re: Temperature sender question -`1940
Yes, it should. If you assume the engine has 2 identical water pumps, then the flow should be equal and the single core or split core shouldn't matter because the top and bottom tanks allow some...

Re: Temperature sender question -`1940
I think it started with the 8ba. The pass side was the sender for the instrument panel but it went through the drivers side "switch", which above a certain water temp. would open and I think the...

Re: '41 p/u front fender pictures
You were correct about the fender looking wrong. I had the little "L" bracket on wrong. When I turned it end for end the back moved away from the door opening and the whole fender moved up slightly.

Thanks, Kube. You sure do nice work. Does the front fender attach to the lowest of the 3 holes along the curved section of the cowl?

Re: '41 p/u front fender pictures
The bottom most bolt hole in my fender looks factory punched, but the one higher up appears home made and there is no reinforcement or cage nut or anything. There is a slight pad in the fender flange...

Re: '41 p/u front fender pictures
I wondered about the running board deal and am installing my boards on my frame and bolting up the fenders to the boards and bolting the inner fender to the "yoke" in front.

Re: 37 coupe RTS T-170 swap!
The Maveric above looks like a good choice .
