Default Temperature sender question -`1940

Does the stock 1940 Ford 85 HP engine have only one temperature sender unit, Part Number 991-10884, and it's located in the pass. side cylinder head?

I am thinking that the 1940 85 HP Driver Side Cylinder head DID NOT have a temperature sender. TRUE or FALSE?

What year did Ford start installing temp. sending unit in Pass. Side Head?
Thanks, Jim
