Also check your dimmer switch, just rewired a ‘40 that had a bad dimmer switch which shutoff the lights.

The "gold" transmission is '36 pickup era and may have a 14T input which would make it a low geared transmission in 1st and 2nd. Count the teeth before you proceed just to know for sure what you have...

I'd be suspect of the end play on the cluster gear, I do a dry fit with all related parts clean, drop the cluster in the case with the 2 thrust washers and measure the end play. Not all rear thrusts...

‘50/‘51 Mercury water pumps
‘50/‘51 Mercury narrow belt water pump cores, good pulleys, pumps turn, pump necks not rusty. These are good cores to rebuild as the pumps are not reproduced. Price is $75 shipped in the lower 48....

The later 16T input is approximately 1/16 larger dia on the gear OD than it's earlier Ford counter part.

And do not mix those gears with the earlier 36-48 car and 36-50 pickup gearsets, different pitch on the teeth.

'32 - '34 Front Brake Rod Support, B-2502 Source
Is there a source for these supports in the reproduction market? It seems Bob Drake is out of stock and not going to produce again soon. I've checked with several suppliers and all are out of stock....

‘34 NOS 1934 LH Brake Lever 40-2497B
1934 left hand brake lever to mount on brake crossshaft, #40-2497B, NOS is preferred. I do have an NOS RH arm, 40-2496 for possible trade. Thank you.
