Re: Is it possible to date my 28CCPU?
Some of the non-28 items are:
No fan shroud
Not a 28 radiator, does not have the bottom holes on it for the fan shroud
Wrong tailight
Because of the engine change there are a lot of 28 features...

Re: Removing drivers window on '29 Pickup
Dean, that frame with the 3 screws, slides Down, on tracks. With the screws out, you will tap that frame upwards and it should start to slide up. Keep working it off, up. Then it will come off. ...

Re: Hood Corners.
Sorry for the misdirection. I checked mine and they are of course riveted. I do remember doing the corners at the same time I riveted the hood bumpers on. I had the hood sides off at the time. ...

Re: Hood Corners.
I think these are a split rivet. It is pretty easy to put it through the hole and bend the tabs over without destroying the paint. Hood sides off, would be really easy, but it can be done with the...

Re: Best choke for downdraft carb?
Well, it looks like I am going to be the outcast here, I run a 97 on a speedster, the carb has a choke, but I never use it. I pump the gas maybe 2-3 times turn the key and it starts right up. ...

Re: Seam Sealer on 31 Tudor
That is correct that a seam sealer was not originally used. There was welting between the upper windshield panel and the underside of the visor; as mentioned cowl/ tank welting and that was about it...

Re: Rear Springs U bolts
Are you talking about the clamp that goes around the spring, at each end, or the clamps that actually clamp the spring to the frame? On a pickup, couldn't the metal pan in the bed be taken off...

Re: '28 Tudor: Wood blocks
I think it has been mentioned in this thread already, but the body block pads are also varying thickness for shimming the body. One sheet of one thickness might not be the fix all.

Re: '28 Tudor: Wood blocks
In my opinion you are going to be so much better off to just purchase one of the body block kits from any of the Model A distributors. No guessing, just purchase. The body block pads depend on what...

Re: missing or stumbling on acceleration
I would tend to agree. The carburetor has three stages, idle, intermediate and high speed. It sounds like it may be something with the cap jet and through the intermediate stages. I would clean...

Re: 1931 Splash Shield Installation
The splash aprons have a little bit of "float" built into the bolt holes. You would be ahead of the game to assemble the aprons, but don't bolt down the body or the aprons, then pre-fit your...

Re: 28' Roadster pickup tailgate
Instead of hooking it over the top, come up from the bottom, and then hook over. That will keep them in place going down the road.

Re: Main drive gear
A little bit of play is normal. Even new ones have a slight movement to them. Look at the bearings to see if you see any wear on them, or any pits. If you are thinking of replacing them, this is...

Re: Do I panic? - Rear main oil leak.
It will be interesting to see if the oil leaking out of the rear main seal and the water getting into the cylinder and crankcase are related. I imagine they could be. More later.[/QUOTE]

This may be complete folklore, but I had heard that left over paint was mixed together to not waste paint and the mixture, which made green, was then used for the engines. Since Henry was pretty...
