When possible I have my bumpers replated. Good shop in Elizabethton, Tn does mine. Cost more but his plating his far better than Taiwan.

replating is far more expensive then buying repops- just the way it is.
I have picked up several very nice bumpers on CL for about 200-250 for a set- front and back. what I would suggest. they arent perfect, but are 90% |

As to Tom's mention of Painting with chrome paint, I have found that chrome paint lets moisture through & will eventually grow yellow with rust. I've found the a good coat of white paint first, then the chrome will last much longer.

Hate to admit it but I used "wheel paint" that is silvery metal flake. Looks better than I thought it would until replacing the bumpers makes its way up the priority list.
