Thanks fordbarns for helping me in restoring my 35 ford ignition switch. Could not have done it without your help, esp fordflatman and john for providing instructions.

On the ignition switch for a 35/36 car, there is a chrome button about 3/4" diameter that goes in and out when you turn the key on or off. It's pressed on the end of the ignition shaft. Does anyone...

I've just finished installing the fuzz channels in my 35 coupe and there was no way I could of done it without removing the glass. And once you get the hang of it, removing the glass is no big deal....

My 35, I accidentally left the ignition switch on when the engine was not running. Luckily I was still out in the garage and smell something burning. It was the resistor. They must get a lot hotter...

I had the waterfall plated in my 35, now for the hard part. How do I paint the area between the plated ribs. I can mask off the ribs, then spray but that will be a lot of work. There has to be any...

I was surprize to find out henry used metallic paint on the old fords. In the 35/36 ford book it stated that the dash and window frames were metallic taupe. Hard to believe they had metalic back than.

Mine was missing one and I just got a flat washer and with a ball point hammer, hammer it into the shape the others were. Purchased a spring at the hardware store and it work great.

I will be using only lacquer, no clear coat. At least I'm not painting the whole car. Just dash and window frames, so maybe by them being smaller, I can make it work. I have sprayed a lot of lacquers...

Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36

Does anyone know if the ignition switch chrome lever is being reproduced for the 35 or 36 ford. I know the two look different but should work the same.

Thanks everyone for your help. I got the wheel off. I took one of you guys advice and with my knees pushing against the back of the wheel, tap the nut with a hammer and it poped off. thanks again.

On my 35, I removed the rear spring and rotated it to where the left side was now on the right side. Did not help at all. Maybe I need to do the front spring also.

Anyone know a good time to call Skip(the fellow in florida that rebuilts water pumps). I've tried several times. He's harder to get in tough with then ebay. And that's saying a lot.

I had a sheet metal shop make a "U" shape plate with a bent flange on each side which fit inside the original opening. The plate lower the battery 1/2" which gave it enough room under the floor board.

I do not quite understand what you are saying. Are you saying that a spacer will have to go between the column and the dash to make up the difference in height and what is the locking collar....
