Re: Close call with the battery!

When I found my old pickup, it had an aftermarket firewall mounted battery box. Probably from Pep Boys or Western Auto. I decided to leave it stay, as much as I dislike the non-original looks, but...

Re: slant windshield town sedan

"Here's one more", I had a slant 160-B barn find years ago, all original, a March '31 engine #, flat firewall, no 1/4 window shades, no extended steering column bracket.

Re: what stops the fuel while uphill parking

On a steep hill, nothing will stop the fuel from weeping out the jet, I guess. A good reason for those who park on steep hills to shut off the fuel valve and run the engine out of gas. Some older...

Re: Knucklehead drivers

Here in Mass., most accidents seem to be poor decisions at a too high of a speed on the highways. The side roads have crack ups too, but keep in mind, our roads are paved-over cow paths from the...

Re: Car Radios

I'm wondering how an original tuning head (cables), would mate up to completely new

guts in the radio case. This sounds like a very expensive undertaking.

Re: Bracket on firewall

Possibly a "part" of an old battery box assembly? Or, perhaps part of an old "Up-starter".
There were many companies that sold the parts to move the battery up under the hood on Model A's & other...

Re: Snowday

It surely isn't a "rare" thing around here. Every week during winter I see wrecks and car damages from flying ice and snow chunks flying off trucks and cars on Rt. 95 through Mass. and 14 miles north...

Re: 28 Roadster

Possibly a recovered theft. That car is pretty beat up for a new car, check out the dented up radiator core too.

Re: Locomote

The c-clamps are the built-in fasteners for the out-stretched running-board,accordion type luggage rack. A very popular aftermarket item that way pre-dates the Model A, but probably still selling...

Re: Rag hanger

Yes, I was referring to the Model A, rag on axle accessory. Looks like the poor A has some pretty worn out king pins too.

Re: Rag hanger

I'm guessing that '30 rag hanger is only about 12-15 years old. The '39 Chevy may be dirty but in good shape. A post-war photo? That prototype 7-11 is still using a visible pump out front? Could be...

Re: Care and Feeding of Trico Vacuum Wipers

I use a little smear of NAPA "Sil-Glyde". A silicone grease. Doesn't run, gum or melt.
