There are two types of lifters. One has a standard thin head on the bolt and the other has a thick head. The thick head lifters are meant for reground cams the other for std lift and tractors.

a Ford 600 or 800 muffler works just fine. Weld on inlet and outlets to match old muffler. Price is reasonable, less that fifty dollars and a good stout muffler.

The only way to do that is with a dist machine and being able to run it up thru the rpms.

Just set it to where it starts best an runs best, simple as that. You do not need a fancy tool, only a screwdriver.

paint or copper spray, give things time to dry. let the surfaces get tacky first then after installation, wait a day before running for a good seal.

do both sides with copper coat and let dry for a while before tighting down. Works fine. If it does not dry some first it will leak.

Why would the correct air tight 32/4 cap not work since the tank gets air from the hydrostatic unit, not the cap. If you are using an original tank and sending unit.

You should be able to fine some NOS on ebay they are often on there and the Moog sets are as good as Ford.

There are three bolts and a metal line on 34 dist. From what you have said, your dist really needs to be set up on a machine. CAUTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is only one way the dist will go back on...
