I have never had to add anything to a thermostat or use a second hose clamp on any 37-48 style V8 engine. I have used the hoses with the molded flare where they go over the head. I just set the thermostat on the head outlet, shove the hose down over the thermostat and head outlet, and tighten the hose clamp.


I did a quick look around for these types of hoses for 1939 Deluxe / 1940 / 1941 V8 and found they are out of stock. Sign of the times we live in.
