with the 4 threaded boss's for the fan to mount on. I'll take a look and get a few pictures if I can. ALL 36 type impellers are not the same, there is the truck type with a little larger impeller and the most used type with little nubbins for impellers. Then there is Skips 36 type impeller with large longer streamlined blades. There are flat surfaces on front of the stock impellers that block and disturb the flow where Skips impeller is tapered to improve the flow. Stock 36 pumps deliver 55 gallons in 5 minutes and Skips 36 pump delivers 92 gallons. This makes a big difference in cooling. I did this conversion 30 years ago and don't remember. I have a complete machine shop and may have bored and keyed a stock 36 pulley to fit?? G.M.

32-B, If you run out of options I have a new 33-34 shaft with impeller pressed on that might be useful for the impeller part if it was removed and pressed on the longer 1932 shaft. Otherwise, I have always wondered if a Model A impeller could be used in place of the 32-34 impeller. Some guys will grind down the fins on the "A" to slow down the flow so maybe it could move enough water on a Model B?

this afternoon. It appears to have a plain stock 36 pulley. I thought I used a V/8 pulley with the 4 cast boss's that hold the fan on but that was not the case. It looks like I made an aluminum adapter/ spacer over 30 years ago and just don't remember. I'm not sure what the 4 bladed fan is from but it runs true and is good and tight. G.M.

Wow thanks GM. That actually doesnt look that far off from orignal. Maybe I could live with that, but for now will continue to look for a 32 pump.

Thanks for sharing these pictures ! I like the width of your adaptor toward the radiator. HOW did you fasten the adaptor to the V8 shaft to keep it in place ? |

OK. The pump that I got leaks more than I can live with. I ordered the rebuild kit from renners, he was very nice. Has anyone here rebuilt these before that can walk me through it? The instructions aren't very clear. Any special tools required? looks like most people recommend drilling and pinning the impeller? I have a press and a drill press. Any other tricks? I was a mechanic for years, just never done one of these.

It's a pretty straightforward process. The attached exploded view may be helpful.

Thanks David. That should be very helpful. Bob I haven't. When I got it the bearings felt rough but thought I would give it a whirl. It def needs a rebuild and not just some packing. So stock the impeller is not pinned to the shaft? Just pressed? The rebuild kit came with a new shaft, is there an advantage to replacing it if its not tore up? Guess I'll just give her the ol take it apart to learn how to put it back together.

NOS B and '33-'34 four cylinder service part impeller/shafts show up both pinned and unpinned, just like NOS V8 pump impeller/shaft assemblies.
