1940 frame section

The more research I do, the more I realize how challenging the ignition is on these early V-8s. Knowing little, I'm responding assuming you have the "diving helmet" distributor versus the "crab"...

If your wiring isn't well dressed, the harness can get in the way of the clutch and/or brake pedal, causing your lights to flicker.

Can anyone give me any information on an aftermarket Echlin IC 55 Bakelite coil? The exterior is in excellent condition and the bulb seems intact. It may be N.O.S.
