Re: Do you grease your transmission bearings on a rebuild

New ball bearings should be preluded from the manufacturer. I use SKF and they are lubed. I use assembly lube on all other rotating components especially the 3 roller bearings.

Re: 2nd won't engage?

There is a good chance your "68" fork has had the tips of the forks ground open from 2 7/8" to 3" to fit the later synchro sleeve. This seems to be a common way to build a '39 trans in times gone by,...

It is very important to get the cab to frame wood blocks shimmed just the right height, it doesn't matter if the correct 40/41 cab or the later 42/47.

Re: ‘46/7 cab swap to a ‘40/1?

The floor dimensions are the same, the dash panel is the same press and the cowl area is the same press. You’ll need to add the upper and lower fender mounting holes(lower requires a cage nut) to the...

Re: Trans output shaft

Ford used a 16 spine out put shaft in the '42-'50 open drive 3 speed pick up transmissions, '50 Mercury transmission and the '51 & '52 pickup 3 speeds. Note: the '42-'50 and the '51 & '52 pickup...

Re: front transmission seal for 1936 Ford?
