Taking he gas gauge apart, cleaning all and putting it back together (with a little bit of Hylomar blue) is no big deal, actually you can do it whilst sitting comfortably in the car.

Funnily enough i never had a problem with my Digital Multimeter on the A, but maybe that's because i only use a good quality one, Benning MM 6-2. So cheap digital multimeters will cause problems, but...

so, i understand that it's pretty normal, that the carb overflows when the car is at an angle. my car is a 31 s/w, so the fuel valve is under the hood.
