The recommended torque for the manifold bolts seems to vary anywhere from 25 ft. lbs. on Brattons.com spec. page, up to 50 ft. lbs. Les Andrews book has been corrected from 45 ft. lbs. down to 25 ft....

Gasket between manifolds?

I am installing new intake and exhaust manifolds from Snyder’s and wondering if I should use Permatex between them where they bolt together? If so which one? Maybe stop heat transfer?

I finally have the old valve guides out. The winner was an air hammer with the right driver. The Woodward valve guide driver # AD-343 from Cylinder Head Supply, coupled to a Harbor Freight...

The PH-2229-G tool lists these dimensions .343 x .487 x .337 What is the third dimension? Headed to Harbor Freight to buy an Air Hammer if it will work with this driver.

Finding exhaust leaks?

I would like to find where my exhaust is leaking. Has anyone tried spraying water or oil into the throat of the carburetor, while the car is running, to create smoke or steam to watch for leaks?

Marvel carburetor GAV threads in casting?

I need to buy and run a tap into a corroded casting where the GAV nut screws in. In measures really close to 7/16 x 20 tpi or 11mm x 1.25. Anyone know if it is metric or english?
