Default Marvel carburetor GAV threads in casting?

I need to buy and run a tap into a corroded casting where the GAV nut screws in. In measures really close to 7/16 x 20 tpi or 11mm x 1.25. Anyone know if it is metric or english?

Use a bottom tap or take an old nut and file (or dremel) 3-4 slots in the threads (so it looks like a tap) then use some WD40 and clean them out. You don't really need a hardened tap since you are just cleaning the crud out of the existing threads and not cutting new ones.
