I’m reassembling my 36 and looking for confirmation on correct front fender welting. When I disassembled, there were 3 pieces on each side of black welting with a stainless cap that aligns withe the fender joint. There was no welting on the inner rear part of the fender where it bolts to the lower cowl. Should there be some welting at the rear cowl joint?

From my own experience and reviewing original 36 Fords there is no welting between the fender and the lower cowl. Don Rogers should be able to confirm this.

There is no welting between the front fender and the lower cowl.

are you talking about the two bolts that go straight up and into the lower cowl? how about a gasket between the two painted surfaces?
