36 club cabriolet/cabriolet

Is there a piece of hardwood recessed on each side of the windshield frame to secure the windshield garnish molding? I know there is on the 35 cabriolet but when I got the 36 there was no wood. On my 35 there is a lip that holds the wood in place. So maybe on my 36 someone took a chisel and just splintered the wood and removed it before I bought the car.
