36 club cabriolet/cabriolet

Is there a piece of hardwood recessed on each side of the windshield frame to secure the windshield garnish molding? I know there is on the 35 cabriolet but when I got the 36 there was no wood. On my 35 there is a lip that holds the wood in place. So maybe on my 36 someone took a chisel and just splintered the wood and removed it before I bought the car.

The same piece of wood is used on the side of the windshield frame for '35 and '36 cabriolet and club cabriolet. The left and right side are mirror images of each other.
