While there may seem to be humor or silliness in those wheels, this actually is a fairly standard practice in the Hot Rod builder's world as they are used for mock-up of the car. The wooden discs are the same circumference as the tires that are targeted to be used, ...and with the wooden discs installed, clearances ( fender sheetmetal, suspension, etc.) and 'stance' can be verified without worry of damaging a high-dollars set of wheels & tires during the fabrication process.
