I've noticed some business's like Speedway seem to have minimum shipping charge. They say no handling charge but I think it's built in?

I bought two repo bumpers from Speedway & free shipping. Watch for their sales if you do not need the parts pronto.
Pretty nice bumpers & way cheaper than having mine re chromed & worrying about the chrome shop loosing them. Paid a little extra for the good ones as they have a less expensive one.
Had a nightmare with a shop on my 57 bird stuff. They didn't show up when they were supposed to so I called & he says let me look . He says I can't find them anyplace let me call you back. A day later he calls & said he found them waaay in the back against the wall. They chromed the stuff & when the trucker delivered them (7 bumper pieces) I opened then box & they were black & never polished. I returned them & they finally got it right. This was a high dollar shop in the Fresno area that did Jag & Mercedes stuff. They came highly recommended also

Not sure why you say that; I just shipped one to AU a week or so ago, $25. But don't expect re-shipping will be cheap no matter what. Even a padded envelope to AU is over $10. That's a bargain, IMO. It's halfway around the world.

I tried to ship some headers back east from Calif. They wanted $93.00. Oversize, fuel surcharges, ext. These guys are way out of control. UPS and FedEX raised their prices 10% a while back supposedly to cover the increased fuel costs. When the costs went back down the rates did not. Now I see on Bloomberg they are raising the rates another 10%. Shipping companies are now like the cable TV companies. They are about making profits not providing service. It is as simple as that. Whenever Wall Street or Washington get involved it gets ruined.

If you can look into shipping Bus Freighter.com. They are they best I have found on shipping large items. You just need to have a Greyhound terminal near & they do have a limit on size & weight. Had 2 32 fenders shipped from Pittsburgh to Or for $62.00 & they arrived two days later.
