I don't like buying NOS parts without the box. Since I collect the boxes too I want the whole shooting match.

That said if I do a fine point car for myself and I needed said hose but couldn't get the box with it, I'd reconsider.

BUT Luke...the box does not get your points.....and if someone wanted to buy back from you that needed the hose for his or her restoration, said box would then also become mute point....True???

Mark,
I want to apologize to you if you think I am judging you on how you choose to persue your hobby. I firmly believe that it is your car, your money, and your time, and I respect your right to do with it as you please.

The point I was trying to make was in answer to the question as to the Ebay auction for the hose. I think it is a scam! Back in the 50's we would purchase hose with the stripe on it in 3' lengths to use on the farm equipment. If it were in fact a Ford NOS part why would he not give the box with the auction?

I'm surprized that slick seller hasn't carefully unfolded the box, had it duplicated on a copy machine, then fold and glue the seam on all the duplicate boxes. That way he could increase the sale price by supplying the box. Or should I say "A" box.

Because the box is a "LOT" harder to find then the hoses.. Back in the 50s if you bought some of them, what is the first thing you threw away ??..

wow , just got home from a date... should of went dutch so i can have more cash for the hose... First , no one asked is it useable [soft , or what??] you could be buying a rock that would not get soft ...who knows...i have not been on ebay for awhile and surprised the BID is low.. But that will change with 1 second to go. I also can not believe this thread is almost as old as the hose...L.O.L. It started on 02-21-2011 almost a year ago...At my age [which is younger then most of you guys...l.o.l.] i want a box there better be some hair around it...and most of the time it will cost the same as the n.o.s. hose...i am not bidding...

Ohh, I get it!! Good one Mark!!!

Someone please help me out, ...weren't the original hoses made from natural rubber? If so, doesn't that mean they will still be pliable a long as UV light hasn't deteriorated them when they are placed in hot water? My experience has been that. Then, when driving doesn't the engine warm the coolant to temps which makes the hoses pliable? Since there is not any pressure, where is the danger come from in using original hoses?

What was the paid price $105.00 Now that's a deal/steal if it CAN BE USED... If i was the seller i would be pissed off.. Should of stated soft when boiled in water and no cracks and no leaks...Then i would of bid but not much more[$250.00] .Before the French Lick [YES] ,3 times what it sold for. Brent . i had n.o.s. hoses on my roadster in 1988 MAFCA meet and again there were taken off and boiled in hot water for the MAFCA meet in Mass. As far as i know they are still on the car..34 years later...I traded a mint rare 1930 G.M.I. horn to Roger Kauffman for the set in 1986..

Why take them off? Putting them on and taking them off does more harm than just leaving them on! Also, unless you CAREFULLY reshape the ends of the clamps each time they end up looking more sloppy angled toward each other forming a tepee shape (old and well used).

And, you have a very nice way with font selection. If you haven't figured out who cares, you probably should be on another car site.

Marco . i sold the car with them on... The new owner sat the car for years [13 years about] .Then he decided to show the car again. The shop call me up and said they were hard [what to do] So i told them. As far as i know they are still on the car only coming off that once . The car was not well kept!!
