Nice find. "Heavy Metal" for sure that gets heavier as you get older.

The pair of Merc pumps you posted should be worth something and they fit in a USPS flat rate box so not all that much trouble to ship. JMO

Hi, I'm in Texas and I think I have some of the early water pumps. I will check and see and get some pics. You can have them for free for the packing/shipping. Steve 469-474-6189

GONE:: the price for clean cast was $120 a ton. Sold a few cores then nothing. Still kept 3 '36 types and three Mercs just incase. 700 lbs earned $40. Not that good for clean load. Newc

Thanks for offering up before you scrapped any, and for taking the time to ship the ones I got from you.

It’s unfortunate but I scrap heads intakes exhaust manifolds unrepairable blocks and more. Can’t keep it all and the value is so little it’s not worth storing as that costs also.

Sadly not only does it have to do with a decline in popularity, but it has to do with shipping prices and location also.

The shipping can definitely kill a good deal. I'd love to have a good set of EAB heads and the shipping is more than the price of the parts.
Newc sure didn't make much, if any on the parts he recently sent me. He definitely made a contribution to support the hobby before scrapping any of it. I appreciate the effort he made. It's dirty time consuming work. |
