Oldgearz, I have a 57 Ford, and found out there is more to that job than you may think. I found out sorta by accident. I am taking my car in Feb/Mar to a shop that most of their work is baby-birds, and they are pulling it out, and doing THE PROJECT for me.

Good luck.

Some of you guys put me to shame. I'm only 77 but just 77 by a couple of weeks. I plan on living for ever. It's all going to plan so far!

"It's all going to plan so far!"

...until it doesn't.

Baseball great Mickey Mantle's quip about reaching a ripe old age: "If I'd known I 'd live so long, I would have taken better care of myself." I think director George Cukor said the same thing after passing the 100 years-old mark.

I'm 91 and just sold my '22 Model T roadster yesterday and they're coming to pick it up tomorrow. It was getting hard for me to get in it, drive it and work on it. I still have my '28 Model A and '34 roadsters and plan to keep those for a while. I also have a '37 Touring Sedan which my wife wants me to sell. It's an unrestored original car with around 63k miles on it, drives well and is in amazing condition for its age.

"Considering the odds, not too bad."

Still simple to work on but there are certain Model A's that are 'lost' dreams, too difficult to enter, Roadsters, Phaetons & Station Wagons. Adjustable bench seats are an improvement.

will be 89 soon. Still driving the '29 Business Coupe I got when I was 16. Gave my son in Lake Forest, CA my late original '31 Station Wagon and my daughter in Kansas City my '31 68C Cabriolet and in May my Grandson in Lake Forest gets the Business Coupe. I am keeping the '30 all wood Speedster as long as I can.

I have a message for you all. It is cliche from Clint Eastwood. "Don't let the old man in!" My "Bucket List" is make it to 100 with all of my marbles and all of my Model A's. Only 17 years to go.

"I think these old Fords are what keeps us going."

Maybe so, but the 1929 Town Sedan I just finished after a grueling three-year restoration d*mned near KILLED me, physically and spiritually!!! Every once in a while you run into a problematic Model A that fights tooth and nail against being restored. This was one of those and THE most frustrating restoration I ever did. 'Almost turned me into a Chevrolet man! Almost. It aged me to the point that I FEEL as if I'm in my 80's...my LATE 80's

I'm just a kid @ 68. Nobody in my family's ever lived past 73.

The heck with it, I'm taking it all with me!

Toby Keith song inspired by Clint Eastwood cliche.

This keeps me active when I get discouraged.

Just turned 79. Flying choppers in Vietnam in 1968, I didn’t think I would make it past 22. Got shot in both legs. Still missing the other ones who didn’t get home, still flying my Piper Cub like GPierce and just finished a complete rebuild of my 1956 Cessna 180. Working every day on the 31 Wide Bed, 30 Tudor and 39 Pickup. Too much work to do. Can’t die now.

I've always said "I'm going for 100 and when I get there, I'm going for 200".
