Senior Fordbarners

How many Fordbarners are in their 80s? I am 83 and still enjoying my Model A's. I still learn stuff. I refresh & learn new mechanical engineering skills on YouTube by watching Professor Walter Lewin of MIT. I also learn alot on this forum. The Ford Barn is the best Model "A" forum.

'85, still going, not as strong as I used to be but still athletic. I learned Model T's, then Model A's in the 1950s

I feel like a spring chicken here, 73 in a couple of weeks. I hope in ten years I’m going as strong as you guys - I’m planning on it.

81 here,.....but slowing down. I needed to pull a tranny w/overdrive from my 54 Ford this winter to fix leaks. Gave up the notion though, as just thinking about the cold concrete floor got me tired.

You probably already thought of this, but I have a couple of carpet remnants from home installs over the years that I slide around whenever I need to be on the floor. They make a tremendous difference.

Same age as you Bob, still enjoy the Model A, just a little harder to get up off the floor. Glad the A has running boards!

So I’m only 64, a “babe in the woods”, and I still struggle with laying on the garage floor in winter. (Sometimes in summer… lol!) I use interlocking floor pads, they are cheap and are available on the web. Oils just wipe right off and they are padded. Just search Amazon for “CAP Barbell Interlocking EVA Foam Exercise Puzzle Mat Home Gym Flooring”
And there are lots of options and they are cheap, 24SF in 6 pieces for $13, gives you all you might need.

I'm 88.86, do I get a prize? I was doing great until at age 76 I had a major stroke that affected my whole right side. For a few years it took me 5 minutes to get down on a creeper, and 10 minutes to get up, I don't do this anymore! But I still make cylinder heads and grind cams, well, others do most of the work for me.

I’m in my late 80’s. I won’t give my exact age because there too many scammers looking up names on Google.

I'm 70, just a young buck, you guys truly inspire me. My uncle is 85, he is busy putting together a '29 roadster. I am starting to feel all the A tinkering is actually a good thing, keeps the noggin sharp, and helps keep the body moving. At least that is what I tell the wifey. Ha Ha.
