Unless the pictures are printed backwards, the clutch actuator is on the right side of the transmission. This, and the "F" in "54F" point to foreign (most likely English) manufacture. From my experience with US made V8-60's, I know that the starter intrudes on the transmission case. This also seems to be the case with this transmission. Other than that, my knowledge of foreign Fords (much less the 60 horsepower variety) is very sparse.
