The key appears to be from the 8BA era.

Tubman, I thought that too. It's an Ilco 1125K key. I have seen those blanks used as a replacement for the earlier cars.

I have seen that type of lock on closed cars too. I'm not sure why you would want to lock the spare tire that is locked in your trunk, but I have seen it.

Folks,
John is the proud owner of another engine. I posted under the 46 thread but he many have many other options for it.

John will fill you in on the details. I believe it rolls over. Good news.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Wow, that is a clever adaptation to use an 8BA generator on an earlier engine.

38 coupe, it did come with an 8BA carburetor that was really nice. The word cobble comes to mind on the generator set up. Pulled the plugs and shot Kroil down the cylinders. Turned over easily with a breaker bar so there's hope. Always a crap shoot with this stuff but it was close to home. In the same garage there was an 8BA engine along with a 35 or 36 engine judging by the distributor. Chris was a huge help along with his cherry picker, trailer and winch. No near misses of broken bones or engine falling off the trailer!

This vacuum plate spacer was under the 8BA carburetor that came with the engine. It has the normal 59 A-B intake with the silencer so it wouldn't be needed. Anyone have any idea what it came from? I know I've seen them before.

Those are installed to allow for an aftermarket vacuum accessory, typically a South Wind gasoline heater.
