Default 1947 17" Tonner wheels/Cap retainer clips

Howdy!
Anyone have a Tonner pickup wheel either for sale or a donner wheel to recover 2 hubcap retainer clips....all i need is 2 clips, can't find anyone who sells them, they are riveted to the wheel, any leads appreciated!
Thank you!

Have you tried contacting GB Sisson here on the Ford Barn? He has more experience with 3/4 and 1 ton flathead trucks than anyone else I know.

I'm assuming that the ones for the wide fives on a 1/2 ton are different?

Both GREAT suggestions, Just sent an email to Gary (can't believe i did not think of him!) Just googled Drake clips, will call them, those clips look close, website does not include them for 1947 BUT they may well be right!
THANK YOU!

Yes, I cited the 82Y 1034 in my early on email to Rick. None of the online sellers (Parts Voice, Rear Counter, Green) have any. I suggested then, and suggest now, one of the various reproduction clips sold by a number of vendors on Amazon, eBay, and other sellers found on Google. Are these clips that unique that a rare wheel must be sacrificed to remedy this? I would hope not. Stu

I would bet some one has a rusted out junk wheel so a rare-good wheel would not be in danger. Just a matter of who reads this. How about Fred, barnfind08 on the barn here?

Morning, all!
I would not use/sacrifice a usable wheel just to harvest the clips, was only wondering if someone might have a wheel that had a major defect....Stu & Gary are our mentors on this subject...great day everyone!!

News from this end not good. I found the two rusty wheels I have beewn using for clip donors and none left on them. Between two tonner trailers, a rolling chassis and a complete parts truck I only found one wheel that looked rusty enough to steal clips from. This was on the chassis and in a tough spot to chisel clips or remove the wheel. Looks like I am out of the running on donor clips. Sorry

If you're still looking for 17" cap clips I may have them. Attached is a photo of a 17" rim for a 1940 Tonner. I can't tell if they're the same, but if so you're welcome to 2 of them. These look a little gnarly, but might clean up.

Hello, Pete,
I am very interested, THANK YOU.....Can i ask:
Is this a DONOR wheel? It looks just like mine....Hate to ruin a wheel that MIGHT still do what wheels do...What might you want for it OR for clips if it is a Donor wheel?I see you are a fellow Washingtonian, we need to compare trucks!
Sending you a PM....Rick
