The distinction between 89 and 90 mph speedometers is production timing, not what model body types that the speedometers were installed. All early '32s had either 80 mph or 120 kph speedometers and all late '32s had 90 mph or 130 kph speedometers. In other words, there were no uniquely standard or deluxe '32 speedometers, unlike in '33 and subsequent model year vehicles.


Your photos depict two of the '32 cylinder heads, the earliest with a LH (or RH) following the part number and the second version with only the part number cast in. The last version had no part number cast in.

Thanks for the clarification on the part numbers on the heads for 32's....The speedometer I was referring to was in the 1934 Deluxe Coupe that was the Original Posters subject car......Not a 1932 speedometer. There is a link to the 34 coupe and Mecum's site with pictures!!

The “32” portion/conversation of this post is about “just” a 32 engine and transmission that was sold. There are pictures of it on the mecum site

EBay has/had a listing for a 1932 intake manifold complete with fuel pump, oil tube, DL carburetor, post generator with a fan and an air silencer. Originally offered at $2,500 but has been reduced to, only, $2,100. I think whoever won the Mecum auction got a pretty good deal on the engine/transmission combo for $1,770 even if it is not 100% correct & original.

No doubt about that John. One thing I forgot to look at, as well, was IF it was a 32 block? It looked as if, there was enough 32 goods on that motor that even IF the block was not 32, you still made out okay!!!
