Hey guys,
I’m working on putting my 1934 truck cab back together, and I am missing some cage nuts that are riveted into D-shaped holes. Does anyone one know if there is a source for them? I’ve checked a few of the parts suppliers but have only come up with the standard cage nuts or D-clinch nuts. The 1/4-20’s attach the roof to the pillars and the 10-32 hold in the windshield. Please look at the pics to see what I’m after. THANKS! |

ALSO, IF you like you can also look at the "weld" style cage nuts there too

They don't rivet into place; you peen them into the pre-punched hole.

The cage nuts need to have the cage welded or spot welded in place. The D-nuts are peened into the D shaped hole and both come in various sizes. You may not find the exactly same cage shape

Try ThirdGen for the D nuts that you are looking for. (not called cage nuts as they are different)
I got the ones I needed from Roy Nacewicz (now sold through Third Gen) years ago. They may have them...... may not. |

I ordered the D-nuts from Snyders this morning. Before I even made this post I checked all of the suppliers mentioned. Again, my intent was to come up with what was originally in place, not a substitute. The D-nuts should work fine once peened in place.. if they match the existing holes!!! lol it’s always something.
Thanks! |
