Have you loosened the gear box mounting bolts ?

I have not, but even without loosening the bolts, the steering column cannot move up enough to reach the new support bracket - the original bracket limits how much the column can move up. I can’t see any way to make the new bracket work without using either a spacer at the column, or making a spacer at the dash rail. Looks like I need somewhere between 1/2” and 1” extra clearance.
