I am trying to use sealed power v1558 valves in my A engine but I only have 5 on hand, I tried to use the sealed power number to buy some more but the warehouses and parts places want an engine vehicle application , they can't or won't cross the numbers over to their brand of parts, The guide application is for a 61-63 olds or pontiac 315 cu. in . engine . I cant find what engine manufacture /application the valves are supposed to fit, luckily I have plenty of valve guides on hand and 5 of the v-1558 valves already or I would just buy the kits available from the model A suppliers. appreciate you help . Fordestes .

Not sure what you are looking for, but call Manley with the dimensions you want, size, length, diameter, etc and they will build it for you and the price is not bad. Google their catalogue and you may find a stock valve that is just right for your application.

I was in the same situation earlier this year, it seems that SP V1558 is no longer made. I found some on eBay under the GM part number.

can you give me the G.M. Part number, mabe I will get lucky, I have 5 on hand and the guides on hand, I am 3 valves short, I I didn't already have the guides ,retainers and keepers I would opt for one of the retro modern valve kits offered, the G.M Valves have an abundance of material on the face and should last for another century.

The GM part number:2368099.
I was using NOS Model B lifters with my Burtz cam in my Burtz block. The new valves from major model A suppliers were way too short, the V1558 valves where long enough to be shortened to the correct gap. |

Just be aware those were never inexpensive valves. I have some and they were about $15.00 each at least 10 years ago.

I want to thank Mr. Bruce for helping me out on my search for the valve train parts, and also I learned a lot of useful information about these cars from him, is .002 interference fit right for the guides press fit in the block, I don't want to trash a good block by forcing the guides into the bores and causing a crack. Thanks Fordbarn !
