Most 1935 to 1948 gear sets that are available these days are 6-spline. This is what necessitates the adapters for cars that still had 10-spline. Those early ones that came out for use with the V8 and up through 1934, had different bearings but they were a step up from the model A style axles used up into the model B era prior to the intro of the heavier duty axle assembly.
