Default Re: Fuel pump location question.

Nosetime, the motor part of the pump is about 2 inches from the header, the fuel part of the pump is about 5 inches from the header. I was concerned about heat and thought about adding a heat shield, but did not. I have had fuel pressure problems. I use a Holly pressure regulator set at 1 1/2 psi, while driving the car it worked fine, but sitting at an idle the pressure would slowly rise until at about 4 psi the Stromberg carburetors would flood. Added a bypass line on the firewall from the high side to the low side. Problem solved.
