Another bit of info I would like to add is one can often tell a lot about the condition of an engine just by listening to the sound the starter makes as it turns the engine over. Yours has an even rhythm or regular repeated pattern of sound. That indicates fairly even compression from one cylinder to the next, which is a good sign. However, yours also sounds like the starter is spinning the engine over a little fast (just a little not much) in my opinion which can indicate lower compression in all cylinders, like a worn engine with a lot miles, as the engine has less compression and is easier to turn over. Plus the fact that you said the engine was warm adds to the accuracy of my opinion. Could still be a good runner though.

You’re welcome but according to your comment I’m not quite sure that you understand. Even if you had not improved the ground with a new wire, there would still be an audible difference in the rhythm of the sound made by the starter if there was a significant problem with any of the cylinders. The only difference is the overall speed would be slower. As it is now, you have probably established the best ground possible but the overall speed is still slightly faster, in my opinion, than what it would be if the compression were improved as is evident with a Model A engine with less wear on the rings and cylinder walls.

Agree 100%, especially with these old cars. Listening to the whine of vintage machinery is part of the attraction of these cars IMO - I'd rather listen to that than a symphony orchestra.
