I know very little about post 48 engines! Was thinking in terms of pre 49, thanks Kube. Also, I use a modified oil filter system (with a sprin-on filter) and not the by-pass, anyone know the filter numbers for the post 48 by-pass filter?

![]() I am fairly certain the '49 - '53 housing uses the same filter cartridge as the '40 - '48. The body of the filter appears to be the same diameter and depth. It's the mounting bracket that is different.
