I agree, 3 computer guys and they have no idea ? A virus is only an infection of files. A format wipes all files. GOOD computer people CAN extract files from a formatted drive. A way around this is to format drive and write the whole drive full and format it again. This is not at all needed here. To a timid person , the very most this computer needs is the hard drive alone being replaced . The very least it needs is a simple format and re install of operating system . IF the owner is locked out, a good tech can use DOS and get in and save stuff like pics and PDF files etc, I doubt these would ever be infected, and to be sure these files can be scanned before putting back on the fresh OS install. Find a guy who knows something. For 3 guys to say trash the WHOLE computer WOW. |
