I coated the so called "shepherds hook" with epoxy and worked the float on to it. Works like a champ....

I was referring to using the metal carb or other used sender floats instead of the Model A floats.

They can't be used in our application. They require a 'hook' on the sender arm. This is why I did what I did....

I am going to do it the way you did yours. Seems pretty straight forward and simple. I was just curious how someone could attach a carb float to the sender.

Solder will work on a brass float.
