I like the Uhaul trailers. I've used them several times with no problems. The major problem for me has been availability. I've reserved trailers in the past and cancelled the reservation when I didn't buy the car. No hassle from Uhaul.
I now have my own 16 ft. alum car hauler & I love it!

Twice I tried to rent one. First time was when my truck arrived in the container from Southern California and wouldn't start. They wouldn't rent to me since my tow vehicle was a Ford Explorer (nevermind that U-Haul had installed the hitch on the Explorer). Wound up towing it with a tow strap the 5 miles home.

The second time I had engine problems 400 miles from home and there was no equipment available. Wound up towing it with a tow bar similar to the one Joop used in post #18.

I used a u-haul to get my roadster home. It worked great. I found it was much less expensive to rent the trailer locally, drive it empty to get the car and then transport the car home. I don't recall the numbers, but a one-way haul cost quite a bit more.
