Default Re: V8 flatly RPMs 100s or Thousands

[QUOTE=Mart;1008123]I used to shift at 45 hundred but after everything converted to thousands I switched to 4 and a half thousand and it goes much better.

Mart.

So on a old tach , 100's are the same as 1000's , Example 200 rpm is now 2000 rpm.

A stock (( 1950)) 239 is about 110 hp & 190 torq @ 2000 rpm's ,
Around what Rpm does the vale's start to float .
I am looking for a Vintage tach , but I don't know if need just a 4 hundred or 4 thousands tach reading ,or 5 , or 6 ,

I have plenty tach's that go up to 8,000 - 12,0000.
