A friend of mine had a German Ford, wish I had a pic. Similar to the French ones. He sold it and since passed.

Other things? Please refer to Trevor's two photos in #2 and #3 above. If the body does come down all the way to the way to the top of the running boards, the doors must be shorter, top to bottom. You also keeping overlooking the narrower doors with eight separate hinges compared to only four combined hinges on Canadian and U.S. 33-'34 phaeton bodies |

Dave,
Over the hears I've had a total of seventeen '33-'34s. Of those, only the 5-window coupe shown in my earlier photo was of Canadian origin.. All the rest wee manufactured in the main in the U.S., six for domestic sale and ten exported. Of the ten, I imported four from Brazil (LHD) and six I imported from Argentina (RHD). All six of those Argentine cars had two battery access holes in the floor (one on the left for V8s and one on the right for fours). In other words, both Canada and the U.S. made both types of floor pans for their vehicles destined for RHD countries (and evidently sometimes by mistake). |

Another difference in the Australian assembled 33-34 car chassis from the USA one is it has four rear brake rods, two extra for the handbrake where as the USA and some Canadian cars had only two rear brake rods. I have a Canadian manufactured South Africa assembled four door sedan RHD which has only two rear brake rods. Regards, Kevin.

I figured it was for versatility to build LHD and RHD cars on the same production line. My phaeton does have a vin number that starts with "C" so I am pretty confident it was built for the Canadian market. As always , Thank you for sharing your research and knowledge. We are always learning. |

Hi David, Trevor
With your additional comments I can surely conclude that I have an Australian body. Attached pic of the car that shows dual rear brake rods ![]()

I did not know that the Australian factory actually modified a North American cowl. I just figured they stamped their own. Learn something new every day.
