I need to replace the fuel sender float on the 37 Ford. I has what appears to be the original cork float that all the varnish has melted away and is now saturated with fuel. C and G offer two floats for these cars that are brass. Which, if any, of these will fit my sender and how are they attached? Thanks.

BTW - I epoxied the two together and sprayed them with clear, fuel-proof, model airplane dope....
Photo shows the removed original cork float and the newly installed replacement float.... Last edited by petehoovie; 01-25-2017 at 05:21 PM. |

I used a modern car float salvaged from a replaced fuel pump assembly--- look in the trash at most any garage

The OE cork float on my '47 sender was saturated. Sender works fine. I had a Drake sending unit kit with a hollow poly-float bulb. It snapped right-in-place in the loop of the original wire arm of the old cork float.

Look at the picture Mark posted of his sending unit above. There is no 'hook' on it like yours....
