Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
Tub,
Totally get it and I was being Mr. Literal with my comment. :D
Back when I bought my heads from Barney in the early 2000's, he told me about his Hi-Dome heads and had some for sale.

Re: 13/4 intake
I believe he is talking about 1 3/4" or 1.75" intake and exhaust valves.

Re: 97 carb on a 51 8ba
Tubman:
I was also going to mention the same variation of the 97 with the vacuum port in the base. I've only seen a few from all the years going to Hershey, but its possible that a carb...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
Navarro's pop-up piston design is quite different than what we see here.
The piston was made with an actual protrusion that rose above the deck and would match accordingly to a corresponding...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
Jack,
I was wondering the same. If you look at one of the picts, it looks like one side of the piston edge seems to be out farther than the other making me think it could have been possibly...

Re: Nice forty Ford
I don't mean to derail this thread, but now I'm curious. Looking at the picture Kube posted, how much dust do you think entered through the breather on top of the oil fill tube? I guess that...

Re: Nice forty Ford
Jim,
I know nothing about '40 Fords, but I'm if curious Ford did not offer that "extreme" duty air cleaner as an option in '40?

Re: Hot rod steering box
I would 100% lay out everything before you finalize anything. The further you go forward on the '32 frame rail, the narrower the rail gets.
Use the EXAXCT exhaust you plan to run for all...

Re: Gas under carbs on manifold
You shouldn't have to, but may need to. Have you called Stromberg? Those carbs looks brand new and I know they aren't cheap.

Re: Gas under carbs on manifold
Agreed with the area by the jet screws. While running, take a clean paper towel and wipe around those areas. If you have gas on the paper towel, you found the leak.

Re: Crank
Agreed. I just read about the ERay. It's the hybrid, still mid-engine gas powered, but has a 100hp electric motor to drive the front wheels. Knocks off 0.2ths of the Z06 0-60 time to 2.5 secs. ...

Re: Crank
Part of that money is also to get the engine to pass emission standards and get somewhat decent gas milage.
I did not read the article mentioned here yet, but I read a few others on the new...

Re: Help with a recent 8ba rebuild
Got it, Jim. Thank you and that's what I thought. Maybe you can tell from my post, I don't fool around with the side mount distributors much if at all. LOL!

Re: Help with a recent 8ba rebuild
Just curious, when you guys are recommending to move the rotor one or two teeth, can you explain more what you mean? All of the flathead distributors I've dealt with just have a flat spot for the...
