Re: 2025 4th of July Island Style

How fun! Did you own ALL the parade vehicles or just the coolest ones?

Re: 1940 Ford Zenith Radio Project

Wow! You've got a lot of talent and even more determination. I liked your post about your battery cover as well.

Re: Thoughts on this Hobby

I was born this way. I was often told to not turn your hobby into a job or you may end up hating your hobby. So I became a Caterpillar mechanic, which at the time paid way more than the car...

Re: 40 Amp Original Look Alternator

Hard to tell for sure but on one of the pieces of blue tape looks like 12 volt.

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

Sounds like you got it figured out Gary so maybe you already know this. Throwing it out there anyway.

Some of the gear lubes on the store shelves will have the limited slip additive already added...

Re: air-conditioning compressor with a eldebrock 3 deuce

I built an A/C system for my 52 F3. I like my stock generator mount and don't like the mounts that use the GM alternator with the compressor next to it. Ended up building a compressor mount that fit...

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

I gotcha actually. "The devil is in the details" is another saying that applies. Looking forward to your solution. I always enjoy your threads.

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

The width is the same and the cap diameter is the same but the cap bolt centers are different?

Are we talking cast caps or straps? I'm having a hard time visualizing this. Dang Gary, you're SO...

Re: 4bbl carb on flathead?

To add, Charlie rebuilds the stock carbs and fuel pumps as well. If your original carb and distributor need to be freshened up, he can do it. It will be bolt on and go when you get them back.

Good...

Re: 4bbl carb on flathead?

My 52 F3 had the Load-A-Matic also. Like mentioned it will not work for you on any carb other than the stock one.

A good option is to get a GM unit adapted to fit your engine with the correct...

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

Gary, I think that was my original 52 F3 block and I just screwed a new hose in it. It was already tapped.

Edit; I went back and found pics of that block on my original Timken axle. It had a bolt...

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

I'm happy with this. Everything is stock 52 F3 up to the block. The rest is 72 F250. Done!...

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

I cut the nipple down, drilled and tapped it to 1/8" NPT so I could put the stock breather in. I really don't want to run a hose up under the bed. Washer is a crush washer to seal the bolt....

Sorry, I was not able to copy and paste from my post over on FTE. It lets me include a link to the pic though.

Block drilled out. Adapters are Edelman #258340....

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

Gary, my F3 has 1/4" brake lines and the 72 F250 Dana 60 has 3/16 lines to the wheel cylinders. I kept it that way by modifying my Tee fitting and using two adapters. Been working trouble free for...

Re: 9" rear in a jailbar truck

Sounds like a good plan to me. Safer for you and yours and that truck you built is the only one like it on the planet. Axle failure at 70 MPH would be bad.

Re: Need help identifying these tools

Thanks for the replies all.

So it is a window sprayer. My buddy that gave me this stuff thought so. He said he could remember the service station guy having them in his pocket.

The "multi...

Re: Need help identifying these tools

Thanks for the reply signsup, I'll take a look and maybe just try to see if it works on my flathead.

I see a lot of this stuff on eBay cheap. I never figured out what some of it even is. I just...

Misc Ford and non Ford tools, and 41 Ford Deluxe Reference Book

Items pictured $10 each plus shipping or just make an offer. I have to put a price up. I'd hate to see this stuff end up in the dump. I will try to test the timing light before selling it if anyone...

Re: Need help identifying these tools

Here's the last wrench. No markings on it that I can find.

The rubber hose on the vacuum gauge is still in good condition. Maybe I'll use it if no one is interested.

The wire on the timing...

Re: Need help identifying these tools

Not sure what attenuator wire is for or what the other item is at all. Just happened to be in the box of stuff. I have one more "multi wrench" tool I forgot to get a picture of. I'll be back.
