Re: Battery hold-down clamps for 54 customline

The problem is finding a battery that size even if you have one.

Re: Looking for some History - '54 Crestline Power Seat

I drove 200 miles to get one part for my power seat and one motor for the window. The seller wouldn't divide his cache so I ended up spending money on two complete doors, 3 more motors and an asst...

Re: paint schemes & balance

It's the buyers preference, I don't think there is a standard. My car was originally black with a white top. The interior is green. A weird combination to me. When I had it painted I chose white...

Re: Plexiglass 1954 ford crestline glass top removal

Pry the corners off first. The long strips of stainless pop off. You can cut the rubber away but it isn't necessary. In the picture the corroded piece is an original. On either side of the hole...

Re: Someone please explain 'Reverse Current To Open'

I'd try a diode first. They are an easy install and don't cost much.

Re: Repair broken horn ring

Is there much space behind the ring that is not visible when it is installed? I've had good results using the plastic version of JB Weld although the metal version might work just as well. Layered...

Re: Plexiglass 1954 ford crestline glass top removal

The stainless snaps off the retaining straps. Under the stainless are the bolts that hold the straps and the seal down. I assume you have the interior trim pieces removed. You can see the nut...

'54 Ford radiator

Original serviceable radiator from a Skyliner. It has been vatted and tested. Not show car quality but not real badly dinged either. I replaced it because of poor diagnosis and inaccurate...

Re: Power window relays

If it is anything like the '54 Ford it is a convoluted wire scheme that I doubt can be duplicated with a more modern relay. Does it have about eight terminals?

Re: 1954 Mercury engine color?

C&G Ford Parts is where I got the engine paint for mine. They show a light green for Merc flatheads but nothing for a '54. You might give them a call though. https://cgfordparts.com/

Re: '54 Ford Victoria body and seats

I really don't want to cut this car up for scrap. It can't sit in my yard forever though. Any offer at all?

Re: Rebuilding a '54 steering gear.

I finally have the gearbox installed and although it turns much smoother the play in the steering wheel is still there. I guess I'll have to live with it because the play isn't in the box, it is...

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator

Concours copper, original looking radiators are about $800 with shipping. I've decided to hold off on either of them until I get my tax bill. I'm leaning toward the Concourse because it is US made.

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator

Concours Parts lists type 1 and type 2 and show the mounting brackets on the sides are different. They don't show prices in their catalog though. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator

I found a 6 blade on Larry's for $60. Is that what you found?

Also, the measurements aren't quite right on the radiator. Is the fitment good?

'54 Ford Victoria body and seats

This is a gutted '54 with no stainless, glass, engine or transmission. Fairly good sheet metal & frame, good seats. TX nonrepairable vehicle title.

Pictures available.
