Re: Difference between 47 & 48 F1 steering box

Why reinvent the wheel and create a unique definition of commercial vehicles when Ford already did that for you? It's simple. If it had a 112" wheelbase, it was a "commercial" vehicle (or passenger...

Re: 1932 Ford Mid Point version door handles and

Tom,

In my experience the mid-point handles are the scarcest by far. They were a bit shorter than either the long or no point handles which perhaps lessened their leverage and increased their...

Re: NEW products available thread

OldGold360,

Any chance that you'll be making the capped studs used with floor mats and your sockets?

Your sockets were also used on '33-'34 V8 passenger car #1 wood floor boards.

Re: 1932 Ford Mid Point version door handles and

Tom,

Rather than sacrificing a good original long-pointed handle, which are not exactly commonplace, why not consider modifying a reproduction long-pointed handle instead?

Likely they are...

Re: 77-6050A Truck Cylinder Heads

Aluminum heads on '37s only on early production with the rest of the year's production being with cast iron heads on passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and big trucks.

Re: 35 Exhaust Manifold - Studs or Bolts?

If you were to use studs, you could not install the left side manifold after the engine was installed because of interference with the steering gear box. Conversely, you could not remove the left...

Re: New Rookie Question about Removing 32 Engine

It would seem that the unique limitations of a '32 center cross member are not widely known as much of the well-meaning counsel above applies mostly to post-'32 chassis.

Re: New Rookie Question about Removing 32 Engine

Re: New Rookie Question about Removing 32 Engine

A load leveler is a must, both for removal and re-installation, as it is tight quarters between the front cross member and the lower edge of the firewall Don't even bother to try and remove only the...

Instead of trimming the lower insulator, reverse it so that the lip faces up, not down as you have it in your photos.

Also you are missing the washer that fits beneath the nut. The large washer...

Re: Anyone need a 33-34 front shock for parts

The '35-'36 rear shocks have a greater capacity and are therefore have larger housings compared to the '34 rears. As Terry points out, they are functionally interchangeable.

What distinguishes...

Re: Anyone need a 33-34 front shock for parts

No shock absorber serves as a front shock on both '33 and '34 Fords. The former fits inside the frame and the latter fits 9n the outside of the frame.

Re: 33 oil dipstick and tube

With respect, there's no surviving record of when your two vehicles were produced, only of the dates the original engine/transmission assemblies were built. Depending on the location of the assembly...
