33 oil dipstick and tube
I have two 33’s. One built in February and one in July. The later has a, as I would call it, a regular dipstick tube and dipstick. The early one has no tube and a split dipstick that you have to pinch together to get in the hole. Was there a running change where the later one got the tube and one piece flat dipstick??

Re: 33 oil dipstick and tube
With respect, there's no surviving record of when your two vehicles were produced, only of the dates the original engine/transmission assemblies were built. Depending on the location of the assembly plants relative to the engine plant in Dearborn, the gap between the date of the engine manufacture and vehicle assembly could be weeks or even months later.
The addition of a tube to the oil pan for a revised dipstick was a '34 model change. There was no tube on a original '33 pan, but the dipstick was revised with the addition of a spot weld to completely enclose the loop of the handle. |

David you ARE the best! My go-to guy. Thank you.
As far as build dates, I went by the serial number list in the good-ole 33-34 “restoration manual.”
